Neil Crawford Centre
In 1976 the Government of Alberta decided to locate two new government department buildings on the east and south edges of the University of Alberta south campus. This site is now called the Neil Crawford Centre, and the fi rm was commissioned to do an overall master plan and complete the design of the two large administrative buildings. The design concept was that of a ground scraper to meet the scale of the adjacent communities as well as developing very large 65,000 square foot floor plates for flexible open ended departments. The building has an innovative double wall system to the exterior as well as a central atrium to the people interaction areas. This timeless design was the winner of two design awards.
